Well, the most popular cake in Belgrade is the Moskva Šnit made by Hotel Moskva. A light cake, made of sour cherries, pineapples and almonds. The main ingredients are cooked, to make the cake last longer.

In 1974, Moskva reorganized their confectionery with Vienna as their role model. Before, their assortment of pastry was modest and boring. So, the director of the hotel asked the former confectionery manager, Anica Dzepina, to create something new. Immediately, the cake got really popular. Not only in Serbia, but also in London, Vienna, Budapest, Geneve, Rome and Chicago.

Between 200 and 300 people order Moskva Šnit daily. Further, the hotel delivers thousand cakes monthly to different adresses. Nowadays, Moskva offers 300 different cakes.

If you are lucky, you will find a window seat with a great view.
